Are there any significant dots to connect between Hanukkah being observed by Jewish people and Christmas observed by Christians worldwide?
One of the things that marks the observance of Hanukkah is the lighting of candles. God has marked Israel with being the messenger of light. Isaiah 10:17 for example says, “And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame….. and Isaiah 9:2 says, “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined”. What is the significance of the candle lighting and connection with the understanding that Israel has always been associated with the symbol of light to the nations, and the light to the world?
Of the various Jewish observances throughout the year, where does Hanukkah fall in the line up from least important to most important and why?

We’re told in Zech. 12: 2 -3 that Jerusalem would become a cup of trembling. “Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all the surrounding peoples. On that day, I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth shall gather against it? unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege.” Zech. 12-2-3
