Sam Rohrer, president of the American Pastors Network, recently returned from a week long trip to Ukraine, where APN representatives continued fulfilling a request to help Ukrainian leaders and pastors become re-energized in their mission and zeal to bring biblical and constitutional government to Ukraine.
Rohrer traveled with Col. John Eidsmoe, a frequent lecturer and debater at colleges, universities, churches and civic groups. Also a constitutional attorney, Eidsmoe has successfully litigated court cases involving First Amendment rights and religious freedom. Joining them was Pastor Dale Armstrong, International Director for APN, who has orchestrated APN’s on-the-ground involvement in the Ukraine over the past year.
During the trip, the APN team met with members of the media, constitutional lawyers, members of Parliament and key political figures on the essential elements regarding the writing of a new constitution. APN also planned an essay contest for high school seniors and college students, in an effort to help them understand the biblical principles behind the U.S. Constitution.
“The ongoing work in Ukraine and the doors that have been opened have been nothing short of miraculous,” Rohrer said, “and we give God all the glory for these tremendous opportunities. This relationship is also strong because these Ukraine leaders understand that America became a great nation because our country was built on a biblical foundation, and they want that foundation for their own nation. During our many interactions with Ukrainian pastors and leaders, APN has presented the biblical principles of authority, government, law, jurisdiction, ethics, integrity, and what it means to have a righteous government. These principles refer heavily to the American experience, to the view of our founders, and to the principles that drove the writing of our Declaration of Independence and Constitution.”
For the past year, APN has partnered with Ukrainian leaders, after first being invited last June to an International Leadership Summit by Bishop Valery Reshetinsky, who also serves as the Chairman of the Ukrainian Interchurch Council that represents 20 different evangelical denominations. During the initial summit with more than 100 in attendance, Ukrainian pastoral and elected leaders learned about the principles that made America great. Also attending that summit were approximately 15 key government officials from the executive and legislative branches, including top advisers and heads of government agencies and departments. Since those initial events, Rohrer and other APN leaders have been invited back to Ukraine multiple times.
“For years, the people of Ukraine have struggled with government instability, economic setbacks and personal crises,” added Armstrong. “Yet, amid that strife, are men and women who understand that the only way to establish a truly free and prosperous nation is by building a nation based on the foundation of God’s Word and His eternal truth. It has been both eye-opening and sobering to see that even as many in America reject this truth, Ukrainians are making sacrifices in pursuit of it.”
Rohrer continued that Ukrainian leaders have repeatedly confirmed their desire to establish a righteous government free of corruption and bribery, and one that would recognize and protect the basic and inalienable rights granted by God.

KENTUCKY CLERK FACES HER “FIERY FURNACE” MOMENT
/4 Comments/in Blog /by News RoomOn Thursday, she is scheduled to appear before a Federal judge, who will, most likely, issue a decision on her continued refusal to comply with the June SCOTUS ruling. Her refusal is akin to Daniel 3, where three Hebrew children stood their ground and refused to “bow down and worship” the golden image of Nebuchadnezzar.
Like Mrs. Davis, the Hebrews were governmental employees! Like Mrs. Davis, the Hebrews were standing against the overwhelming societal norms of the day! Like Mrs. Davis, the Hebrew children faced a severe punishment for their refusal to comply with a government mandate in conflict with their religious beliefs! Unlike the three Hebrew children, Mrs. Davis is not facing a death penalty (though some of the LGBT community may want to see her dead) for her decision! Additionally, unlike Daniel’s three friends, Mrs. Davis has a governing United States Constitution that is clearly on her side!
In Mrs. Davis’ situation, all of the LGBT community is crying, “Just do your job!” Issue same-sex licenses as you’ve been ordered to do! Others (primarily Bible-believing, constitutionally informed, Christians) are saying, “Stand your ground and refuse to comply!” A still smaller group is advocating that Mrs. Davis simply resign her position, if she has such firm, uncompromising beliefs! In this, who is right?
In all honesty, Mrs. Davis certainly has clear Biblical ground on which to stand! Daniel and his three friends did NOT resign! In their situation, there was not pathway to do so! They stood and had to bear the consequences of their stand. Mrs. Davis will have to do the same! But, resigning is, in my opinion, NOT obligatory!
As well, I believe Kim Davis has MORE THAN sound constitutional grounds on which to make her stand! The beloved First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution is abundantly clear! Her religious liberty CANNOT be “prohibited” (“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”). There is no specification that says that she can practice her religious beliefs ONLY in her home, or on her non-work time! No, Americans have always had and always believed (until very recently) that we have the freedom to practice our faith ANYWHERE, including on the job–be that job a government one, or not!!!
So, to Kim Davis I say, “Stand your ground!” Refuse to succumb to the immense pressure that you must be facing! Stand tall, unbent, and with firm resolve! To the greater Christian community I say, “Pray for Mrs. Davis and show your support for her!” Her battle is actually OUR battle! Today, it is Kim Davis! Tomorrow it will be the larger Christian realm! If she loses, so do we ALL! If she wins, we ALL win with her! In once sense, we win either way. I am reminded of the words of the Hebrew children, “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king” (Daniel 3: 17).

Stand in the Gap Today Radio Program Informs and Equips Pastors to Respond Biblically to Today’s Issues
/0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by News RoomDear Friends,
In this letter I’d like to encourage Pastors to consider these words from George Barna, author and researcher formerly with the Barna Research Group who spoke at our recent U-Turn Conference held at Lancaster Bible College on March 19th. He is addressing the audience with a pointed message for pastors and on what needs to happen for there to be changes made in our churches and in our society. He says:
“…What we’ve found is that pastors like to read the newspapers and the Internet, and watch television news programs about the issues. They’re informed. But they’re keeping that information to themselves. What I’d implore all of you to do is not simply be informed for the sake of being informed but take in that information and go back to God’s word and figure out what does God say about these issues. And figure out how you can share that with your people. That’s what they need. They don’t need more happy talk when they come to church. They need stuff that’s going to kick them in the pants and say, “This is what a follower of Christ does.”
Our primary mission at the American Pastors Network is to identify, encourage, equip, and educate pastors to “Stand in the Gap” for truth. Our daily news analysis program called “Stand in the Gap Today” is meant to be a tool for pastors, church leaders, and Christians alike to not only be informed, but also to be equipped to know what the Bible has to say about the events and issues confronting our world today. We exist to help YOU to think from a biblical and constitutional perspective about these things so that you can go back and share with your friends, family, and congregation!

Stand in the Gap Today Brings Hope and Clarity to Today’s Issues
/0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by News RoomDear Friends,
From nearly every perspective – political, economic, prophetic, religious, academic, and medical –the world seems to be turning upside down! Consider the following:
This is why, as we deal with the issues of the day on our new ‘Stand in the Gap Today’ radio program, we look at the events around us and attempt to bring clarity to them by looking through the lens of Biblical Truth and our Constitution. By God’s grace, He is using APN in our various ministries to bring hope and clarity to a confused world as we encourage Pastors and all Christians to ‘Stand in the Gap for Truth’.
Specifically, I’d invite you to listen to a program that aired on Monday, August 17, featuring Middle East and Israel expert, Dr. Jimmy DeYoung, also host of Prophecy Today, who helped us understand the Iran Nuclear Deal, and the developing tensions with Russia and China and Iran. He also shared what’s happening in Israel from a biblical, prophetical perspective. You can listen to this program: HERE.
More recently, Dr. DeYoung joined us for an update on the alignment of nations, the rise of NATO, and the preparations to resume Old Testament sacrifices on the Temple Mount. You can listen to this program HERE.
As we move through exciting yet perilous times, we invite you to stay informed and encouraged by listening to ‘Stand in the Gap Today’ for a biblical perspective on what’s happening here and around the world.
