North Carolina Pastors Network Planning Press Conference July 15 to Discuss Marriage in Virginia and North Carolina

MORGANTON, N.C.—North Carolina Pastors Network (NCPN, www.americanpastorsnetwork.net/north-carolina) is planning a press conference for 10 a.m. July 15 on the steps of the south side of the State Capitol in Raleigh to address the upcoming 4th Circuit Court of Appeals decision regarding Virginia’s marriage amendment.

At the event, NCPN representatives will call on North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory to specifically defend marriage for all states that fall under the 4th Circuit, should the court rule against the protection of traditional marriage in the state.

Dave Kistler, president of the North Carolina Pastors Network, said that because North Carolina falls under the 4th Circuit’s jurisdiction, the ruling will directly affect the North Carolina citizens’ hard-fought traditional marriage victory.

“As with Pennsylvania, Utah, Kentucky and several other states where the Attorneys General chose not to defend their states’ marriage laws, North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper is on record stating his lack of support for our voter-approved amendment to protect marriage,” said Kistler, also president of HOPE Ministries International. “Therefore, we have absolutely no confidence that he will defend North Carolina’s marriage amendment, should it also be in question after the Virginia ruling by the 4th Circuit. And, as is the case with other states where voters overwhelmingly defined marriage as between one man and one woman, North Carolina appears to have no one prepared to defend the law, including our Attorney General.”

In 2012, more than 60 percent of North Carolina voters approved a marriage amendment that defined marriage as between one man and one woman.

The North Carolina Pastors Network is unequivocally committed to a biblical worldview and to voting for individuals who most clearly embrace it, regardless of political party. NCPN is a group of biblically faithful clergy and church liaisons whose objective is to build a permanent infrastructure of like-minded clergy who affirm the authority of scripture, take seriously Jesus’ command to be the “salt and light” to the culture, encourage informed Christian thinking about contemporary social issues, examine public policy issues without politicizing their pulpits and engage their congregations in taking part in the political process on a non-partisan basis. The North Carolina Pastors Network is a state chapter of the American Pastors Network

We cannot attend event today but will future ones. We are praying Gods will to defend His Holy marriage will prevail, but remember Jesus predicted many will turn from God. There’s apostasy happening in Body of Christ, some are fighting true saints so they can promote gay marriage. Gods word never changed. God bless, be bold and be courageous!

I’m born & bred in NC for 36yrs now & I hope I never see this abomination happen in my state. It’s one of the few things that have been done in our state that is the word of the people rather than against the people.

    Greetings,

Thank you so much for efforts to defend marriage for all states that fall under the 4th Circuit, should the court rule against the protection of traditional marriage in the state. On 680 talk radio, I have heard interviews with Dave Kistler and his doubts about support from Attorney General Roy Cooper that I feel are well founded. Hopefully efforts directed toward Governor Pat McCrory will be successful. I just finished a GREAT book that could be a wonderful resource legally to fight this battle! If you are not aware of it, you will find it to be an invaluable resource. The book is, “MAKING GAY OKAY – How Rationalizing Homosexual Behavior is Changing Everything” by Robert R. Reilly (Ignatius Press / ISBN:978-1-58617-833-8). Starting with Aristotle and Socrates, the book goes through the ages showing that sodomy was never accepted by any culture and that society, based on the family, had laws based on Christian values and natural law to protect the family and thus society. People took the slaying of Onan very seriously. Court cases are highlighted and the agenda and psychological moves that have turned wrong into right are explained. It can be noted that Christians criticized homosexual acts, not the persons, but the courts and pro-LGBT persons and groups say it’s class discrimination. Well, alcoholics are being discriminated against, too! And other people with disordered tendencies! Get rid of reality, and nothing can be compared in cases of right and wrong. It’s all subjective. Tyranny results. The book shows how institutions have already been changed – courts, schools, the military, the Boy Scouts, civic institutions, and even diplomacy. Pages 201 and 203 have statements by Pakistani students and by acting ambassador in El Salvador Mari Carmen Aponte that expresses it perfectly! Basically, “The United States wants to project and promote objectionable, unnatural, abnormal behaviors under the pretext of equality and human rights…” As part of the US foreign policy mission, the US wants to force all countries to accept and celebrate the LGBT lifestyle. We have got to stop it here. As a North Carolinian, I especially want NC to declare marriage is only between and Man and a woman. God Bless you and thank you for your efforts to save families, society, and all people including the persons not willing or able to face the truth and reality!
